Art on a Stick: a garden treat

Jewelry for plants

Still plenty of snow around but I got my green by visiting Thomsens Greenhouses yesterday.  AHHHHH is all I can say.  I was surrounded by color and life and warmth from the plants and the people.  I’m also making some garden art of my own that I’m calling “art on a stick”. These are original pieces of art made out of clay and  outdoor weatherproof materials that add a little height , texture and soul to your window boxes , patio containers, and gardens.  As is my usual style they are a bit whimsical in subject matter–dancing houses, fairy spirits, cat angels, and chickens.  I’ve had a request for flying pigs and frogs too.  These are great treats for this time of year because it’s still too cold to dig around in the gardens but it’s something you can physically and mentally hold onto as you wait for real spring weather. In fact hold onto the stick and rub your hand up and down it seven times repeating these words-” I want to be warm.  I want to be warm. I want to be warm.”   The friction from your hand on the metal will make your wish come true or else the embarrassment from actually doing it may cause a flush.

Plants need bling too!
